DUSSELDORF, Germany, -- At CARAVAN SALON DUSSELDORF 2008, International Trade Fair for Recreational Vehicles, Motor Homes, Trailers and Camping Equipment, over 160,000 visitors will participate to view and order RVs, mobile homes, accessories, technologies and tents/awnings as well as camping and campground equipment showcased by over 550 exhibitors. Almost 2,000 RV's and motor homes will be presented at CARAVAN SALON from August 29 (trade visitor and media day) to September 7, 2008 at the fairgrounds in Dusseldorf, Germany. New introductions are expected primarily in the compact mobile homes segment.

The first Recreational Vehicle World Conference will be held during CARAVAN SALON on September 4, 2008. The aim of the conference is to improve the exchange of information and contacts between global RV markets. In addition to traditional RV markets such as Europe and the U.S., growth markets such as South Africa, Australia and China will be a focus at the Conference.

Other special events at CARAVAN SALON 2008 will include the "caravanning design award: innovations for new mobility" presented by Messe Dusseldorf and organized by red dot projects. The trade fair will also feature a unique information program concerning meal preparations in the small RV kitchens. Professional TV or Michelin-star chefs will provide recipes and cooking tips every day around lunch time at the "Cooking Studio". In addition, the RV Industry Association (CIVD) will look for the ideal "RV family" to be featured in the advertising campaign for the CARAVAN SALON 2009. Families can have their s taken at the "Caravaning Aktions Center" and the winner will be chosen at the end of CARAVAN SALON 2008.

Two special travel and accommodation packages are offered for CARAVAN SALON 2008. For EUR 86, visitors will get a 2-day entrance pass for CARAVAN SALON, one overnight stay including breakfast in a middle-class hotel and a dinner at a traditional brewery restaurant in Dusseldorf's famous Old Town. In addition to this, the German Railway (Deutsche Bahn) offers a special ticket for CARAVAN SALON: a round-trip train ticket to Dusseldorf from all German cities for EUR 99. This offer is valid for travel between August 27 and September 9, 2008 and includes the use of all Deutsche Bahn trains including ICE trains. Both offers can be booked through Dusseldorf Marketing & Tourismus, Tel: 011 49 211 17202-839, e-mail: messe@dus-mt.de.

Two trade fairs will be held concurrently with CARAVAN SALON 2008: TourNatur 2008, Hiking Trade Fair, and IAM 2008, International Investors Trade Fair (both will take place from September 5 - 7, 2008).
