BRUNSBUETTEL, Germany BMW specialist G-Power has upped the ante again with the 635-horsepower M6 Hurricane convertible. The company currently holds the record for building the fastest street-legal BMW with its tuned M5 that sprints to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds.
A high-tech supercharging system uses one belt-driven compressor for each cylinder bank, upping the horsepower to 635 hp from the respectable stock 507 hp. An efficient dual-flow intercooler mounted above the engine cools down the pre-compressed air, further helping this German beast race to 62 mph in 4.6 seconds and top out at a speed-limited 198 mph.
G-Power equips the M6 with an adjustable sport suspension with nine selectable settings that can be changed based on the driving conditions. A set of 21-inch alloy wheels combines with huge brake discs and eight-piston calipers to provide more than ample stopping power.
Outside, the front bumper has been lightened with carbon fiber and completely replaces the stock part. It also has a functional spoiler to help minimize lift, and new side skirts that give the M6 a cleaner, longer and lower look. A carbon-fiber rear diffuser finishes off the list of exterior mods.
Any M6 can be converted to the G-Power M6 Hurricane, and the fully converted car starts at around the equivalent of $290,000.
