An ex-soldier who lost his sight in a roadside bombing has lapped a Scottish racing circuit in a Ferrari 360 Modena.
25 year-old Ben Shaw was permanently blinded by shrapnel from an IED bomb, whilst on duty with British Forces in Iraq.
Determined to rebuild his life, Ben got behind the wheel for the very first time since losing his sight last weekend.
After two training sessions on 6 & 9 May, Ben tackled the circuit on Sat 10 May in front of thousands of supporters at 'Motorfair', Scotland's official and biggest motorshow.
He lapped Knockhill racing circuit, near Dunfermline, in a 70k Ferrari 360 Modena.
Speaking before the attempt, Ben said, "I've always loved driving and cars and motorsport.
"I should reach speeds of around 70mph on the start / finish straight which is unbelievable really."
He concluded, "Ultimately I believe that there should be a disabled category in motorsport, not unlike the disabled Olympics."
Following the daring attempt, he faced arguably the toughest challenge of his life - he married fiancouise on Sunday.
