DETROIT, PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of Crain Communications Inc announced the promotions of Allison Arden, Christopher Crain, KC Crain and Jill Kaplan to vice presidents of Crain Communications Inc.
Allison Arden, Vice President/Publisher, Advertising Age
Allison Price Arden was named publisher of Advertising Age in December 2007. She has been associate publisher for the past year. In this role, she oversees all operations for Advertising Age and Creativity magazines in print, online and at events domestically and internationally.
Ms. Arden joined Ad Age in 1996 as a sales representative, but soon became its ad director, as well as director of business development and custom programs. Having built custom into a successful operation, she moved on to become general manager of Ad Age Interactive, pushing both Ad Age and Creativity's interactive operations into becoming Ad Age's fastest-growing businesses. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland.
Christopher Crain, Vice President/Associate Publisher, Advertising Age
Chris Crain is associate publisher of Advertising Age, with broad responsibilities that include management of Ad Age's Creativity Magazine and responsibility for the continuing development of new vertical online communities for the Ad Age Group. Creativity is embarking on a number of new initiatives for growth.
Since 2005, Mr. Crain has been associate publisher at Crain's Detroit Business, a sister publication of Advertising Age. In that role, he was instrumental in driving a variety of e-initiatives for Crain Communications. Over the past six months, he has also helped launch the company's newest publication, Crain's Manchester Business, in the U.K. He is a graduate of Rollins College.
KC Crain, Vice President/Publisher, AutoWeek
KC Crain was named publisher of AutoWeek in March 2007. He previously held the roles of associate publisher and advertising director with the automotive enthusiast magazine. Before his stint at AutoWeek, he served as an automotive reporter for Automotive News and also served as an early member of the Crain Communications Inc New Media department.
Mr. Crain is a graduate of Denison University.
Jill Kaplan, Vice President/Publisher, Crain's New York Business
Jill Kaplan is the publisher of Crain's New York Business. She joined the newspaper in September 2006. Prior to joining Crain, she was the general manager of The Wall Street Journal's Weekend Edition.
Ms. Kaplan spent close to nine years at The Wall Street Journal where, in addition to her role as GM of Weekend Edition, she was GM of Weekend Journal, Personal Journal and The Journal Report. She began her career in publishing in 1988 as a sales rep with Times Mirror Magazines and later became eastern regional manager for The Economist. She earned a degree in economics from Clark University.
