BIASSONO, Italy The Aznom Mini Clubman Chateau is a thoroughly European creation: It combines the efficiency of German engineering, the best of French style and the audacity to make such a thing that is the hallmark of the Italians. Aznom showed the car at Top Marques Monaco this week.
Design studio Aznom has crammed an incredible amount of thought and detail in transforming the Mini Cooper S Clubman. While many car customizers use the Pimp My Ride mentality of adding everything from TVs to fish tanks, Aznom is going for the highest standard of refinement.
Some of the modifications to the Mini reach a new plain of luxury. The seats are made of rich gaucho leather that you'd normally find on chairs in the offices of billionaire CEOs. There's wood trim splashed all over the interior, but some of it has actually spilled out to the outside as well. Aznom has crafted pieces of the bumper, the taillight casings and the sideview mirrors out of weather-treated wood.
Aznom makes one concession to the over-the-top customization trend, but it's a classy one: a "wine cellar." Inside the trunk, a panel lifts up to reveal six bottles and chalices inside a shock-absorbent case. Superbe!
The Clubman Chateau is being produced in a limited edition of 12. Bonne chance if you want one.
