The entire 2008 production run of BMW X6 vehicles in North America has been sold to dealers.
BMW AG chief executive officer, Mr. Norbert Reithofer made the announcement yesterday.
The company plans to produce 40,000 X6 units worldwide in each full production year during the car's lifecycle.
Half of the worldwide production quota - 20,000 cars - will be reserved for U.S sales.
Strong sales in America bode well for the X6, which borrows heavily from the larger X5 luxury off-roader, albeit with a more coupe-like profile and handling.
X6 sales in Europe and the emerging markets of the Far East are also likely to be high.
