We are negotiating to launch an electric car with a Gulf state," Ghosn told a news conference in Portugal yesterday, as reported by Automotive News Europe. The company has already signed tripartite agreements with recharging infrastructure partner Better Place and the governments of first Israel, then Denmark.
While no information has yet been released on the specification of the cars for these projects, the first of which is due for launch in 2012, it has been confirmed that Nissans lithium-ion battery development partner NEC is earmarked to supply their battery packs.
