Green Car Named Best in Division, Earns a Dozen Awards at NYC Media Competition
Green Car Newsletter, a leading auto industry publication since 1992, was named Best of Newsletter Division at the 2004 International Automotive Media Awards (IAMA) just held in New York City. Green Car Newsletter also took home a gold Foundation Award for Best Single Newsletter Issue and two silver awards for newsletter writing.

Additionally, the Green Car Journal consumer magazine won a silver Foundation Award for Best Single Magazine Issue, along with eight other awards for magazine writing. Green Car Journal is a full-color auto enthusiast magazine that focuses on advanced technology, high fuel economy, and low emission vehicles that run on gasoline, diesel, ethanol, natural gas, biodiesel, electricity, hydrogen, and other clean fuels.

"We're gratified by this recognition from IAMA, particularly amid a field of distinguished publications such as Automobile and Autoweek," says Ron Cogan, CEO of RJ Cogan Specialty Publications Group, Inc. and editor/publisher of the Green Car Journal and Green Car Newsletter. "This affirmation is especially important as Green Car Journal is establishing its place as 'the auto magazine of today,' blending mainstream auto coverage with today's energy and environmental concerns."

The quarterly Green Car Journal consumer magazine features a cover price of $5.99 and a yearly subscription rate of $19.95 through www.greencar.com. The monthly Green Car Newsletter industry publication has a domestic subscription price of $545.00 annually.

IAMA Foundation Awards presented to Green Car Journal include a gold for Interview ("Lee Iacocca on the Environment and War-for-Oil"); gold for Introduction of New Models ("Escape Reality"); gold for News ("Auto Trends"); silver for Technical ("Mazda Hydrogen RX8-RE"); silver for Environmental/Regulatory ("Muscling in on Gasoline"); silver for Travel ("To Tahoe in a Volvo XC90"); bronze for Features ("VW's Drive to Diesel"); and bronze for Road Test ("Honda Accord PZEV"). The Green Car Newsletter won a silver for Column ("Perspective") and silver for Environmental/Regulatory ("Ethanol Flexible-Fuel Vehicles").

RJ Cogan Specialty Publications Group additionally produces Green Car Journal Online (www.greencar.com), which offers breaking news along with excerpts and full articles from the magazine, like "10 Tips for High MPG." The focal point for online news about hybrid, electric, fuel cell, and advanced technology gasoline and diesel vehicles, Green Car Journal Online also offers syndicated content via RSS feed.
