| Texaco/Havoline(r) Introduces 42 Days of Racing |
 |
SAN RAMON, Calif.--Chevron Global Marketing announced the kickoff of the Texaco 42 Days of Racing promotion with a grand prize race package featuring a trip to the final six stock car races of the season and a chance to meet Texaco/Havoline driver Juan Pablo Montoya. Other prizes include a 2008 Dodge Avenger R, autographed racing caps and Texaco gift cards. Race fans can enter the sweepstakes online at www.42DaysOfRacing.com.
Throughout the Texaco 42 Days of Racing, which concludes July 28, customers will receive free with any gas purchase a limited edition Juan Pablo Montoya No. 42 Texaco/Havoline race team 32-ounce collector fountain cup.
The sweepstakes' highly coveted grand prize package is a race fan's dream, including roundtrip airfare, lodging, deluxe transportation, and two premiere tickets to each of the last six races of the 2007 stock car season.
"Stock car racing has become one of America's most popular spectator sports, but few fans have had the opportunity to experience this many races firsthand," said Danny Roden, vice president of North America Marketing for Chevron. "Texaco has been fortunate to build a rich 20-year legacy in stock car racing and we are giving our customers the chance to take part in the live-action excitement of these races."
Also providing additional support for the No. 42 team and driver, Texaco will release a special limited edition gift card carrying the image of driver Juan Pablo Montoya during the 42 Days of Racing promotion. The gift card is expected to be available in stores later this summer.
Texaco continues to sponsor the No. 42 Texaco/Havoline race team and is proud that this year marks its 20th anniversary as a primary sponsor in Cup racing. For more than 100 years, Texaco has grown into one of the most iconic, trusted and familiar brands in the world.
Through its long-term sponsorship of motorsports, Texaco/Havoline Racing has conducted product testing in the most demanding of laboratories - high-speed automobiles performing on the tracks and roads of the international racing circuit. Such commitment helps maintain the excellence of Texaco/Havoline products and builds customer loyalty among the millions of racing fans in the United States and around the world.
