AAA Invites Fans for Virtual Drive at Roush Automotive Collection
DEARBORN, Mich., PRNewswire/ -- Race fans can virtually experience roaring around the Daytona International Speedway at more than 180 mph, thanks to AAA's simulated racecar. The cyber drive is part of the AAA Motorsports exhibit during the Roush Automotive Collection open house on Thursday, June 14 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Roush Automotive Collection is located at 11851 Market Street in Livonia.

In addition to the two-seater simulator, the actual No. 6 AAA NEXTEL Cup Ford Fusion racecar will be on display. Fans can have their high quality photos taken next to the car and then print or send them to friends at their convenience from AAA's website. Top speeds in the simulator races will be posted at AAA.com/motorsports.

David Ragan, 2007 driver of the Roush/Fenway Racing flagship No. 6 car, will attend the open house and be part of an autograph session with other drivers from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. AAA is in its second year partnering with Roush/Fenway Racing as primary sponsor of the No. 6 AAA Ford Fusion. "Hero" cards of David Ragan, 21, will be available at the AAA exhibit along with No. 6 AAA collectibles. Ragan, who began racing at age 11 in the Bandolero Series, is competing for the title of 2007 Rookie of the Year in the NEXTEL Cup Series.

AAA members should remember to bring their membership cards to the open house, as they will receive a free gift at the AAA exhibit while supplies last. Other drawings, prizes and giveaways are planned. Not a AAA Member? Become one at the AAA exhibit and receive a free 1:24 scale die-cast replica of the No. 6 AAA Ford.

For more than 100 years, AAA has been a leader in promoting traffic safety measures and good driving habits. In 1903, AAA sponsored road races, rallies and long distance runs to showcase the safety and reliability of the cars of that era. From 1911 to the mid 1950s, AAA was the sanctioning body at the Indy 500 Race.

AAA Michigan offers automotive, travel, insurance and financial services to more than 1.6 million members in Michigan. It is part of The Auto Club Group (ACG), the largest affiliation of AAA clubs in the Midwest, with approximately 4.1 million members in eight states. ACG belongs to the national AAA federation, a not-for-profit organization with more than 50 million members in the United States and Canada.
