MUMBAI: Auto ancillary company Amtek Auto on Tuesday said it acquired UK-based J L French's (Witham) Ltd for an undisclosed amount to expand its customer base and product portfolio.
In a communique to the Bombay Stock Exchange, Amtek Auto said it has acquired the entire assets of J L French's (Witham), engaged in manufacturing HPDC Aluminium for automotive application.
"This acquisition would help in attaining world class technological edge in automotive component manufacturing, especially in aluminium high pressure die-casting segment," Amtek Auto said.
J L French's (Witham) makes various aluminium castings for company's like Land Rover, Jaguar, Trellborg, Ford and PSA (Peugeot).
"This (acquisition) is predominantly aimed at the European automotive industry, however there are a number of alternative strategic markets which could also be explored," Amtek Auto added.
