2007 North American International Auto Show Welcomes Canadian Visitors

DETROIT, /PRNewswire/ -- As the 2007 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) enters its 19th year as an international event, Canadians are again invited to experience the most exciting production and concept vehicles showcased in North America.

"Each year, as the event grows, we get more and more visitors from Canada. Traveling to Cobo Center from Canada can be trouble-free, if the visitors are properly prepared," said NAIAS 2007 senior co-chairman, Robert Thibodeau, Jr. "There's something for everyone at the NAIAS and we invite our Canadian neighbors to come and enjoy the family-friendly atmosphere of the NAIAS 2007."

Visitors should have a passport or two forms of identification that can include a driver's license or birth certificate. Every passenger in the vehicle needs these documents to be allowed to cross the border. It is important to be prepared when making the trip across international borders. Please make sure your identification is recent and has not expired.

Canadian prices for NAIAS 2007 tickets are $14 CAN or $12 USD for adults; $7 CAN for senior citizens or $6 USD and $7 CAN or $6 USD for children 7-12. Children 6 and under are free when accompanied by a parent and do not require a ticket to enter the show. For convenience, visitors can now purchase tickets online at www.naias.com or at kiosks located in the main concourse at Cobo Center.

There are several options for transportation into and out of Michigan from Canada:

- The Ambassador Bridge offers multiple lanes of traffic flow over the Detroit River.Trips across the bridge cost $3.25 US or $4 Canadian one-way, per vehicle, including motorcycles.

- The Detroit-Windsor Tunnel is an underground passage beneath the Detroit River.Trips through the tunnel cost $3.50 US or $4 Canadian one-way, per vehicle.The return trip from Canada costs $3.50 US or $4.75 Canadian.Motorcycles are prohibited in the tunnel.

- Also provided by the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel is the Tunnel Bus, operated by Transit Windsor.The Tunnel Bus offers low cost transportation between downtown Windsor and Detroit.

- Approximately one hour north of Detroit, the Blue Water Bridge, costs $2.50 US or $2.75 Canadian per vehicle.

Visitors planning to bring a child across the border without their parent should have a letter authorizing permission to transport the child across the border with signatures from both parents.

As an added convenience, NAIAS 2007 has instituted the Click and Park online program. Click and Park allows show attendees the convenience of purchasing a parking space in select lots near the NAIAS up to 24 hours prior to attending.

To purchase a space through Click and Park, follow these simple steps:

1. Go to www.naias.com

2. Click on "Travel and Directions," select "Parking and Shuttles" and then select "Pre-purchase a parking spot"

3. Select the date you plan to attend the NAIAS and click "look for parking"

4. Select lot from various parking areas

5. Create a free account

6. Enter credit card number and personal information

7. Receive ePermit, parking permit and customized directions via email

8. Print the ePermit and bring the copy with you for selected lot access

Each Click and Park location will also offer a convenient shuttle service to and from Cobo Center. Shuttle details can also be found on www.naias.com. If a customer is unable to go online or print their permit, they should contact Click and Park customer service directly at (866) 330-PARK during business hours of Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. EST.

100th Anniversary

In 2007, the Detroit Auto Dealers Association (DADA) will celebrate the centennial of its successful association with the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). Since its inception in 1907, the show has grown from a regional event featuring 17 exhibitors to an internationally-sanctioned show with over 90 exhibitors, adding more than $500 million to the metro Detroit region last year alone. NAIAS 2007 Official Dates

Press Preview Days will be held Sunday, Jan. 7 through Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007. Industry Preview Days will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 10 and Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007. The Charity Preview will be held Friday evening, Jan. 12, 2007. Public Days are Saturday, Jan. 13, through Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007.
