| Hyundai Motor asks police to investigate 22 union officials on alleged assault charges |

The South Korean Yonhap news agency reported this morning that Hyundai Motor Co had asked police to investigate 22 union officials over an incident a day before in which they allegedly assaulted company guards and a Hyundai executive during a protest over bonus payments, a dispute over which was reported here yesterday.
Hyundai Motor is facing industrial action over the reduction of annual bonus payments – which it says results from industrial action preventing the company meeting its already reduced year-end volume target, to which 150% December pay packets were to be linked.
