| BSI PAS 125 Kitemark standard for vehicle body repair released |
 |
At a briefing on 25th October at the Association of British Insurers, Thatcham and BSI (The British Standards Institute) marked another key milestone in the development of the new repairer’s Kitemark standard with the official release of the newly drawn up standards document, the Automotive Services Vehicle Body Repair Specification. Repairers can now view the Publicly Available Specification and begin the processing of applying for Kitemark audit, as planned, from January 2007.
Jason Moseley, Director of Quality and IT Business Systems, at Thatcham, said “Although the publication of the new PAS 125 standard is a fantastic achievement for all involved, we do not see this as the end of our work. Indeed, this is the beginning of the road in terms of providing the repairer industry with a mechanism to benchmark their services and in so doing demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the quality and integrity of repairs. I’d like to thank our sponsors and steering group for enabling us to get as far as we have, Thatcham together with BSi and the recently formed industry working group will now continue to manage and review the standard to ensure that PAS 125 and the Kitemark audit remains the most important quality initiative in crash repair.”
