| Interpec Engineering Conference |

The Interpec 06 engineering conference will take place in Cardiff on November 30 on the eve of Wales Rally GB, the UK’s round of the FIA World Rally Championship.
Companies presenting technical papers or otherwise represented include BERU F1 Systems, Alcon Components, Shell, Ricardo, Dassault Systemes and Prodrive.
Prodrive's technical paper is on its new Variable Compression Ratio engine, which is claimed to offer a 30% improvement in fuel economy with no loss of performance. The engine itself will be unveiled to the public for the first time at the event.
Interpec 06 organiser Andrew Owen said, "It's a marvellous endorsement that Prodrive has chosen Interpec 06 to unveil their VCR engine and great that we are attracting so many international delegates from the motorsport, automotive and aerospace sectors which is a real growth area in Wales."
