Volvo Cars Reports Consistent Sales for September 2006
IRVINE, Calif., -- Volvo Cars of North America, LLC reported sales for September of 9,691 units* in the United States, representing a year-over-year increase of 1.6 percent.

For the month, the all new C70 convertible with the retractable hardtop continued to deliver, and there were strong performances by XC70, S60 and the new S40. Looking ahead for Volvo, the C30 made its debut in the two-door premium-car segment at the Paris Motor Show, last week.

Volvo sales in Canada were up 3 percent for the month, with 831 units sold. In Mexico, Volvo sales of 245 units represented a 28 percent increase.

Overall, Volvo sales in North America (United States, including Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico) were 10,767 units -- up 2.2 percent for September.

Volvo Cars of North America, LLC (VCNA), based in Irvine, CA, is a subsidiary of the Volvo Car Corporation of Goteborg, Sweden. VCNA provides marketing, sales, parts, service, technology and training support to Volvo automobile retailers in the United States, and oversees Volvo operations in Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.

The current 2007 model line-up of Volvo Cars includes: the award-winning new S40 and its wagon counterpart the all-new V50; the award-winning XC90; the sporty S60 sedan -- including the award-winning performance sedan -- S60 R and the performance wagon version -- V70 R; the versatile V70 wagon and rugged XC70 (Cross Country); the new Volvo C70 -- the convertible with the innovative retractable hardtop, and the all-new Volvo S80, coming the first quarter of 2007.
