| Lotus To Roll Out Supercharged Exige S in United States |

DULUTH, Ga. - Lotus said on Wednesday that its supercharged Exige S will arrive in limited numbers at its U.S. dealerships later this year and carry a starting price of $57,915, including a $925 destination charge.
The Exige S adds a supercharger and an intercooler to the Exige's standard 1.8-liter engine, and boosts horsepower from 190 to 220 and torque from 133 to 165 pound-feet. The Exige S goes from zero to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and has a 148-mph top speed. Lotus said the Exige S returns an estimated 25 mpg in combined city/highway driving. The vehicle is equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox and the Lotus T4e Engine Control System, which includes variable-rpm cam switching.
The Exige S includes a rear wing, front splitter and side air intakes that are painted body color instead of black. A single oval exhaust replaces the twin-pipe design of the standard Exige. A revised roof scoop provides air for the intercooler.
