| MMC halts Smart ForFour compact car output for DaimlerChrysler |

Japan Today reported that Mitsubishi Motors Corp has discontinued the production of the Smart ForFour compact car for German auto giant DaimlerChrysler AG at its plant in Born, the Netherlands, effective the same day. DaimlerChrysler decided to end the production of the car model as part of operational restructuring.
An initial agreement between the two automakers called for MMC to produce the Smart ForFour model on behalf of DaimlerChrysler until 2010.
