| Summer launches from Toyota |
 |
Toyota is refreshing its range this summer with new special edition models, from the Aygo city car to the Land Cruiser.
The Yaris Ion offers all the styling and convenience of the new generation Yaris, but with greater value. The new entry point to Toyota's new bigsmall supermini range, it is available from less than £8,000 on-the-road.
Both three and five-door body styles are available with the 1.0-litre VVT-i petrol engine and five-speed manual transmission and it can be specified in any colour from the Yaris range.
Meanwhile, the new five-door, eight-seat Land Cruiser Invincible is equipped with Toyota's 3.0-litre D-4D engine and five-speed automatic transmission. Output is increased from 164 to 201bhp (166 to 204 DIN hp) and torque rises from 410 to 470Nm, which according to the company gives the Land Cruiser stronger load-pulling and off-road driving ability and more a flexible and comfortable on-road performance.
In addition to its uprated engine, the new model has dark tinted rear privacy glass and dedicated 'Invincible' badging. The Land Cruiser Invincible is on sale now and just 500 are available, priced on-the-road at £34,565.
Even before it reached its first birthday, AYGO has claimed the Top Gear Car of the Year title. This summer the Aygo range offers more choice and style with the arrival of the new Aygo Black.
The new car is distinguished by its unique Tempest Black metallic paint, turbine-style eight-spoke alloy wheels, Aygo-branded scuff plates and leather gear knob. Other standard features include a six-speaker sound system with auxiliary input to link an iPod or digital music player, remote central locking, a split-folding rear seat, electric front windows, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and front and side airbags for the driver and front passenger. Both three and five-door body styles are available from 1 July, priced from £7,730 on the road.
