Kinetic to boost volumes overseas

The Kinetic Group has tied up with its collaborator — Hyosung Motors of South Korea — to boost its volumes in the overseas markets. Kinetic Engineering, which is spearheading the group’s motorcycle foray, will initially target markets including Latin America, South Asia and Middle-East through its own distribution network.

The Group also plans to export the GF 125 and GF 150 to countries in Europe and Asia, where the Korean giant is already present, by using Hyosung’s extensive distribution chain. The company expects that exports, in the initial stages, would aggregate to around 10,000 units per year. The bikes to be exported would bear joint branding logos. Kinetic Engineering has also been authorised to undertake marketing initiatives and sell spare parts in markets where Hyosung does not have a presence on its own.

“Kinetic has made certain modifications to the Hyosung GF series to customise it to the Indian market, which has a requirement of high mileage. Kinetic will make available the GF series in two separate specifications—the standard Hyosung specs or the high-mileage Kinetic specs. Distributors in each country will be given a choice so that they can import the version most suitable to their respective market," company officials said.
