London cabbies take a beating
Taxi drivers are better known for their forthright views on football rather than on-the-pitch toe twinkling, but a team of London cabbies recently took on a team of Finnish cabbies at the beautiful game.

The match was to celebrate 60 years of the Finnish Taxi Federation and was a replay of a game that took place 30 years ago between London and their Finnish counterparts.

Unfortunately for the Londoners, the result was a replay of the 3-0 defeat they suffered three decades ago when the Finns downed vodka instead of oranges at half-time.

Phil Davis, of the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers, said: 'We have a great entente cordial with the Finns. They want the next match to be in 2035, but we'll have to see about that.'
