Vauxhall will expand its high-performance VXR range to five models by early next year.
Hot on the heels of the 238bhp Astra VXR, the company is launching fast versions of the Zafira, Vectra hatchback and Vectra estate in November.
Then in early 2006 it will launch a Meriva powered by a new 180bhp 1.6-litre turbo engine. It is expected to cost between £16,000 and £16,500.
The same engine will be used to power a VXR version of next year's Corsa. Mainstream versions of the still-secret new Corsa will go on sale next October, with the VXR due to follow at the end of 2006.
The Zafira VXR uses the same 2.0-litre turbo engine as the Astra and costs £21,995, while the two Vectras have a 252bhp 2.8-litre V6 turbo. The hatchback will is priced at £23,995, while the estate costs £24,995.
