| BMW revises Z4 engine line-up |
 |
The BMW Z4 has come in for a host of tweaks for 2006, the biggest and best being the replacement of the previous 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine with the new 265bhp lightweight unit of the same capacity.
This new engine sees the 3.0-litre Z4 hit 62mph from rest in 5.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 155mph, while still being able to return 32.8mpg.
The 2.5-litre Z4 also benefits from the same lightweight technology, with power rising to 218bhp. The 150bhp 2.0-litre engine remains unchanged.
Other changes include a wider front air intake, side reflectors, and rear lights that use Z8-style conductor rods for faster illumination.
