ZAPCARS(R) to Display at Two Shows This Weekend; Electric Car Rebates Offered as Gas, Oil Prices Rise to New Records
SANTA ROSA, Calif--Transportation pioneer ZAP announced today that ZAPCARS will be on display this weekend, August 20-21, at two events in Northern California.

On Saturday and Sunday, August 20-21, ZAP will be attending SolFest 2005, the tenth annual celebration for alternative energy held in Hopland, California at the Solar Living Center. ZAP will also be showcasing its latest vehicles at "Wings Over the Wine Country," the 2004 air show hosted by the Pacific Coast Air Museum at the Sonoma County Airport.

Last week, ZAP announced electric car rebates as well as rebates on other ZAP vehicles with oil and gas prices hitting new record highs.

This week average gas prices rose above $2.52 per gallon nationwide with some parts of the country seeing prices rise above $3.00 per gallon. News reports out of China say there are gasoline shortages and gas lines reminiscent of the U.S. during the 1970s. Economist also warned of rising inflation this week caused by record oil prices.

Electric vehicles can handle most of your daily transportation without using any oil or gas. ZAP says that electricity from your household outlet can power your transportation and can cost much less than gasoline.
