Automobile owners have been hit with a punishing series of fuel price increases over the past month that have pushed the cost of gasoline to an all-time high, with California drivers paying 25 cents above the nationwide average.
The statewide average cost for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in California is now $2.77, which is an increase of 18 cents per gallon compared to American Automobile Association of Northern California statistics from July 19.
