The legendary Chaparral 2E racecar is to be reborn in a limited production.
According to the Jalopnik Web site (www.jalopnik.com), Jim Hall and Jim Musser of Chaparral Cars plan to build a small run of 2E models using the original body molds, plans and blueprints. The Web site says only one example of the original 2E remains, at the Petroleum Museum in Midland, Texas.
The new cars, which will mirror the look of the original that dominated the Can-Am Challenge in the middle to late '60s, will be unveiled August 19-22 at the Rolex Monterey Historic Races.
