Holden Expands Cruze Line-Up Due to Popular Demand
MELBOURNE: Holden will add a highly specified CDX diesel variant to its popular Holden Cruze range.

A CDX diesel in manual and automatic transmissions will join the CD diesel, CD and CDX petrol models already on sale.

Holdens Executive Director Sales and Marketing, John Elsworth, said the new diesel variant was responding to positive feedback and customer demand.

Since we launched in June, Cruze has really struck a chord with motorists, selling over 6,144 units to date and market feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, Mr Elsworth said.

Cruze has shot straight into the top 10 of Australias best selling cars were delighted with the reception its getting in the marketplace.

Cruze offers outstanding value for money and were seeing many customers opting to buy the higher specified model with the petrol powertrain.

Diesel is proving a popular alternative so it made sense to introduce a new model that offers the best of both worlds.

The high level of features offered on the CDX combined with the performance and fuel efficiency of the diesel makes it a smart choice.

Weve been listening to what our customers have been asking for and this is our response.

The Cruze range combines five-star ANCAP safety with exceptional ride and handling, fuel efficiency and stylish design.

Cruze CDX diesel will offer the same specification as the petrol variant with the addition of a tyre inflator kit. A spare wheel will be available as a no cost option as per CD diesel models.

Features include # Electronic Stability Control (ESC) # Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) # Six airbags # 17 inch alloy wheels (4) # Cruise control # Leather steering wheel # Leather appointed seats with heated front seats # Rear parking sensors # Steering wheel audio and cruise controls # Trip computer # Power windows, front and rear # Automatic headlamps Fuel Economy Official combined fuel economy figures (ADR81/02) for the new models are as follows:

# CDX Diesel (manual) 5.7l/100km # CDX Diesel (auto) 6.9l/100km

Pricing The Recommended Retail Prices (not including dealer delivery or Government charges) for the two new variants are as follows:

# Cruze CDX Diesel (manual) RRP $27,990 # Cruze CDX Diesel (auto) RRP $29,990

The new Cruze CDX diesel model will be on Australian roads in early 2010.
