Toyota to increase production
KOLKATA: Toyota Kirloskar Motor, which manufactures Toyota cars in India, would increase production capacity in the coming years.

Director (Marketing) of Toyota T Ino told reporters here today that last year, the company sold 36,000 units of Qualis, 10,000 Corolla and 1000 Camry.

In the current year, the target was to sell 40,000 units of Innova, 10,000 units of Corolla and 1000 units of Camry.

The company had withdrawn Qualis from the Indian market recently.

Talking about Corolla sales, he said that global sales of the model increased by 10 per cent to 1.2 million units, while in India, the growth was 25 per cent.

Toyota's manufacturing plant, loacted near Bangalore, has a production capacity of 60,000 units per annum.

Ino said that the company would make investments to expand production capacity in the coming years.

Toyota Kirloskar had invested Rs 876 crore in India till date.
